설명South Korea's Finance Minister Lee Kyu-Sung was is Washington on Friday - meeting with top US and international financial officials. United States Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin met Friday morning with his South Korean counterpart. South Korea is one of three Asian countries - including Indonesia and Thailand - that are receiving bailouts from the International Monetary Fund for their ongoing economic crisis. The two men posed for photographers before heading to a closed-door meeting. During the photo opportunity, Rubin was asked about the state of the U-S financial markets. SOUNDBITE:(English) "Q: Any reaction to the market today? A: Oh I never comment on the market. As the President said our economy is doing well and I think, far and away the outlook looks like it will continue to do well beyond that we never comment on markets. Q: So no concerns .....? A: I never comment either way - we focus on our economic conditions, our economic policy issues and as the President said we ... I think we have accomplished a great deal over the past five years in terms of fiscal discipline, a lot of other issues. But we have very large challenges ahead - the President and others made a lot of very difficult decisions and that's some fair measure why we are where we are - but we have a lot of difficult challenges ahead and we have to make difficult but important decisions as we go forward, so that we can continue to position ourselves for the years and decades ahead. Thank you." SUPER CAPTION: Robert Rubin, U.S. Treasury Secretary In a statement issued after the meeting, Rubin praised Korea's efforts to contain its financial crisis but said "difficult structural reforms lie ahead".
