REPUBLIC OF KOREA-1999 ARTICLE IV CONSULTATION: AND STAND-BY ARRANGEMENT-REVIEW AND MODIFICATION OF PERFORMANCE CRITERIA The Executive Directors considered the staff report for the 1999 Article IV consultation with the Republic of Korea and the sixth review under the Stand-By Arrangement (EBS/99/216, 12/2/99). They also had before them the authorities’ letter of intent (EBS/99/213, 1 l/29/99), a statistical annex (SM/99/285, 12/l/99), and a background paper on recent economic and policy developments in the Republic of Korea (SM/99/285, sup. 1, 12/3/99). The staff representative from the Asia and Pacific Department made the following statement: The following statement provides additional information that has become available since the circulation of the staff report (EBS/99/216). These developments do not change the thrust of the staff appraisal.
