설명Since the IMF program was launched last December, substantial progress has been made in the Korean economy. Assessing the overall situation of the economy at this moment I would cautiously say that the Korean economy seems to have turned the first corner of the foreign exchange crisis but the impact of the crisis on the real economy is now beginning to materialize more broadly. Therefore, the major tasks ahead are to implement structural adjustment policies promptly to minimize the social cost and at the same time, to address potential social unrest from unprecedented sharp increases of unemployment
