설명After a year of severe economic distress that has resulted in a loss of more than a million jobs and shuttered more than 20,000 companies, the Korean economy is now approaching the bottom of its downturn. In my retrospect of the past one year, the economic crisis, triggered by a contagion and suddenl oss of confidence,i n essenceo riginated from the long accumulated structural problems of the economy, wl&h no longer made the economy adjust to the new world economic environment. The new Government, under the leadership of President Kim, has made every effort to overcome the immediate foreign exchange crisis and thus, now seems to succeed in being able to go around the comer.
