설명1. After two years in the dark tunnel of the crisis, the Korean economy is now approaching the end of the tunnel. Since the last Executive Board meeting in April, a broad-based and speedy economic recovery has been underway. To quote President Kim Dae-jung’s speech , which was delivered in commemoration of the second anniversary of IMF program on December 2 ,1999, “the current brisk recovery is largely attributable to painful reforms in the financial, corporate, public and labor sectors”. He also expressed appreciation for “the IMF and the international community it represents for their timely assistance when Korea was teetering on the verge of the national bankruptcy.”
